Baptism in the Holy Spirit (continued) Lesson 12

Image
Baptism in the Holy Spirit (continued) Lesson 12 What are the Prerequisites to receive the Holy Spirit Baptism? As we discussed, the unsaved cannot receive, however every believer can receive. Surrender to the Baptizer - - Jesus is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit. (Luke 3:16 ) John answered saying, "I indeed baptize you with water, but the  One   mightier than I comes, of whom I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals; He will baptize you with  the   Holy Spirit and with fire - - As we yield to the one who baptizes us in water; so that he may put us under - - - so we must also yield to Jesus so that He may baptize us with the Holy Spirit. How do we receive? We receive by faith, that is to believe that what God said is the truth. To Have NO reservation, no carnal doubts, and to trust God's integrity. Galatians 3:2 – Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?  Gal 3: 13-14 Christ has

Who is Jesus? Chapter 15 - Jesus quiets the storms in our Lives.

Who is Jesus? Chapter 15 - Jesus quiets the storms in our Lives. Jesus had been teaching parables and stories while sitting in a boat. At the end of the day he ended his teaching by likening a small mustard seed as to the Kingdom of God. At first to us it seems small, it grows big enough to become a shelter and a place of protection. God's kingdom for us becomes a place of solace where we can find comfort, peace, safety and rest. Reading from Matthew 13:31-32 About the Mustard seed as J esus presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this tiny seed is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that The Birds of the air come and find safety in It's Branches." From Mark chapter 4:35-41 Jesus had been teaching for a long while, and he was tired. The crowds were not going home, so the best solution w

Swords and Violence !!

Image
Swords and Violence !!  (Praying Over our City Message) Jesus was speaking;  "And from the days of John the Baptist until now; The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12 NKJV) “ T he kingdom of heaven suffers violence” is a graphic picture of the enthusiasm and excitement generated by John the Baptist’s and Jesus’ teaching. People were hungry for the truth and would not be kept away.   For centuries, God’s prophets had predicted the Messiah’s coming, and now that the Messiah was here, nothing could hold back the flood of people pressing into the kingdom. We see some of this fervor in Luke 5:18-19, when some men literally tore through a roof to get to Jesus, and in John 6:15, when a crowd “intended to come and make Jesus king by force.” I am remembering as a young girl, when I believed that intercession was only one way and that was to have a burden so violent that your insides felt like you were giving birth. Now I am not saying

Baptism in the Holy Spirit - part one - Lesson 12

Image
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT - Part One  -  Lesson 12   BIBLE FOUNDATIONS STUDY After we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we realize He was always available as our Savior. We just had to come to the knowledge, and then receive him , and when we did, he came to live in us, by the Holy Spirit.  It is then - - we experience “Salvation.” The same thing applies to the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is a distinct and separate experience. After we receive the Baptizer (Jesus), as our savior, we can as a believer, now receive our Baptism in the Holy Spirit. The same type of receiving action applies. Who may receive? a. The unsaved cannot – John 14:16-17   And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.                        b. Every Believer

Who is Jesus? chapter 14 "Jesus teaches about various Soil and different Hearers."

Image
Who is Jesus? chapter 14 Jesus teaches about various Soil and different Hearers. Today's message is from; Luke chapter 8. Jesus had been teaching on the mountain, about life and attitudes. He encouraged the crowds to forgive those who have offended or hurt you, and not to worry but to trust God to take care of you.   He likened the birds being cared for by God, and we are of so much more value than the birds.   Jesus reminded the crowd to ask in faith, and to realize that Parents only want to give their children food when they are hungry and not a rock or a snake, and that God desires to give us His Holy Spirit. Jesus also encouraged the people to build their life on the solid rock which is a sure foundation and to avoid building on sand that will wash away and leave your life in a stressful situation. After a long time of teaching Jesus dismissed the crowd and began a journey back to the city.  The Bible tells us that as he came down from the mountain, great crowds

Don’t Look Back

Image
Don’t Look Back I am reminded of Lot and Abraham and how Lot pitched his tent toward two wicked cities. Lot became an important person and often stood at the gate giving advice. God spoke to Abraham telling him that he was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, but Abraham protested and bargained with God. Finally God told Abraham, I will save Lot and his family but no one else. God sent two angels to warn Lot - - and the evil of the city revealed itself as the men both young and old came to Lot’s door demanding that he give them the two men so that they could have relations with them. Finally the angels pulled Lot back inside the home, and blinded all the men so that they could not find the door and eventually the wicked men left. Lot warned his son-in-laws who were pledged to marry his daughters that they must flee, because the city was soon to be destroyed, but they only scoffed and refused to believe. So Lot gathered his wife and two daughters but the angels had to finally

Baptism in the Holy Spirit Lesson 11

Baptism in the Holy Spirit Lesson 11 The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and it's outward manifestations are the introduction to the Spirit Filled life.  The Holy Spirit of Christ comes to live in you at salvation. We know Him as the in-dweller, the comforter, our teacher. In times of crises He helps you to be calm and collected, and He gives you direction on what to do and how to handle a situation. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate and distinct experience. We will study today, and continue next lesson about this special experience that is available to all believers in Christ Jesus. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit was prophesied and promised in the Old Testament. Joel 2:28, 29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.  And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Who is Jesus? Chapter 13 The Sermon on the Mount

Image
Who is Jesus? Chapter 13 The Sermon on the Mount And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatics, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. The crowds pressed upon Jesus, trying to touch Him, and as it was often necessary for him to get away to a quiet place; and his disciples and the people followed him. Matthew's gospel relates in chapter 5, 6 and 7 what is known as the "Sermon on the Mount." There Jesus began to teach by saying; B lessed are the poor in spirit: ) for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are the meek, gentle and humble persons - for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they that mourn:

The Three Holy Spirit Gifts of Revelation

Image
The Three Holy Spirit Gifts of Revelation Today we will be taking a closer look at the three Gifts of revelation – when God reveals to us supernaturally His secrets. The Word of Wisdom, the Word of Knowledge and Discerning of Spirits are the three Supernatural “Knowing” Gifts We must understand the Holy Spirit Gifts are not natural, they are supernatural coming down from heaven for the needed moment in time. James tells us about Natural wisdom: If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives liberally to those who ask Him. “the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”  Realize that these natural unctions are NOT the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians, but they are God-glorifying natural wisdom, natural understanding and natural discernment, obtained by study and listening to the Holy Spirit and built up in your soul and spirit. Sort of an intuition - - the ability to under
