Normal or Natural?

Image
Normal or Natural? Today we will research what it is to be a Normal Christian and not live in the Natural. So then, what exactly is a Normal Christian ? We usually think first – what a Christian does – or does not do. We begin by understanding that according to Luke 10:27 we are to 'Love the Lord God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength and with all our mind '; and, 'Love our neighbor as our-self .' Reads his Bible daily. Prays some sort of prayer - - (usually bless me, my family and supply all our needs.) Attends church at least once a week if it suits his fancy. All this seems like the natural thing that a Christian does and it is what he should do. However God has a different definition of a Normal Believer. We were born in the natural world, that surrounds us. Our human nature at birth is that of a natural person – with a tendency to want our own way, to be selfish and only think about ou

These three Bear Witness

Image
These three Bear Witness The Bible is full of numbers that seem to please God. He likes sets of three, sets of seven and also ten. Special meaning and significance is given to these various sets of numbers. In Proverbs chapter 6, it is stated, these six things God hates, yes even seven are an abomination to Him.   A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren. According to Christian tradition the seven deadly sins are: envy, gluttony, greed or covetousness, lust, pride, sloth or laziness and wrath. (They forgot lying which God hates.) Paul says in 2 Corinthians 13; In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. Matthew 18: “ Again I say to you that if   two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Fo

Moving in the Glory

Moving in the Glory Many today have never experienced a gathering of Christians when the Power of God came down so mightily that there was an actual visible presence of God in their midst.   In times past, the Glory covered the church and onlookers called the fire department reporting that the church was on fire, but it was the fire of Pentecost. This kind of glory does not happen at pot luck dinners, church parties, or community meetings, but will occur when God's people repent of their personal secret sins, and seek God's face. Usually the tangible and visible glory of God occurs during a church service, but also the glory often happens in home prayer meetings. Reading from Ezekiel 47:3-5 " And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water  came up to my  ankles. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water  came up to my  knees. Again he me

Do Not Fear, Because God Holds Tomorrow and He Will Take Care of You.

Do Not Fear, Because God Holds Tomorrow and He Will Take Care of You. As the New Year is in front of us; for many it is a fearful time not knowing what the future holds. For many of our citizens, there is much fear about the unknown, but I am reminded of the beautiful song that goes something like this; “I don't know about tomorrow; I just live from day to day. I don't borrow from its sunshine, For its skies may turn to gray. I don't worry o'er the future, For I know what Jesus said. And today I'll walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead. Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand. ” My message today is taken from Luke's Gospel chapter 12. As Jesus was teaching, he said to them, “Be on your guard against all greed and covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced pl
