Time to - - Get Out of the Box

Image
Time to - - Get Out of the Box Before my husband died, he told me that I would need to make some adjustments in my giving, and that I may need to eliminate some of my missionaries, and organizations I gave to. I said nothing, but when he passed away, I did not trim my giving, but instead I added more good causes to my list. Down the road, I began to have financial problems, and I asked the Lord to provide help where it was needed. God reminded me of a recent message I had given about obeying God exactly as He tells us to do. God spoke to me and said, you are having financial trouble, because I did not tell you to add all those ministries, you have added on your own, and you have been disobedient. Most were requests with truly pressing needs, and I was prompted to give because of the urgency. God reminded me, that there is always a NEED, and although we would like to help, it is often best to simply and quietly back away, unless the Holy Spirit says to give. My tithe always

Bible Foundations lesson 23 – subject: Healing

Image
Bible Foundations lesson 23 – subject: Healing Is God in the healing business? Is God concerned about our physical needs? Does God Heal today? Why do some receive healing and others don't? Is sickness from God? How can I be healed? There are some of the questions in people's minds today. Our physical needs are very real and very important, especially to the one who is sick. The only way to determine the will of God and find answers to these questions is to consult the Bible and lay aside all Un-scriptural teachings we may have been subject to in the past. God is in the healing business. God has been concerned with man's physical health since the beginning of time. However, it was not until after the fall that healing was necessary. God healed Israel as a nation. Psalms 105:37  And there was not one feeble person among their tribes. God promised health if His people continued to follow Him. Exodus 15:26  “If you diligently heed the voice of the

Who is Jesus? Chapter 28 - Jesus heals a Blind man on the Sabbath Day

Who is Jesus? Chapter 28 - Jesus heals a Blind man on the Sabbath Day  Today's message is from  - - from  John chapter 9) Jesus had been teaching at the temple in Jerusalem, and a s he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.     And his disciples asked him, “Master, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”     Jesus answered,  “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be done in him.”   Having said these things, Jesus spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud   and said to him,  “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam.”   So he went and washed and came back seeing.   The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying, “Is not this the man who used to sit and beg?”   Some said, “It is he.” Others said, “No, but he looks like him.” But he kept saying, “I am the man.”     So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?”     He answered,  “Th

Who is Jesus? Chapter 27 "Jesus Walks on the Water"

Who is Jesus? Chapter 27 "Jesus Walks on the Water" After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias. A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick. Then Jesus climbed a hill and sat down with his disciples around him. Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do. Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!” Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?” Jesus said, “Tell everyone to sit down, in groups of 50 or 100.” So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000 not counting women and children.) Then

Bible Foundations: Communion – Lesson 22 (Continued)

Image
Bible Foundations: Communion – Lesson 22 (Continued) The two outstanding features of the Communion Service are the Blood and Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. To have an understanding, we will consider the blood and the body in that order. THE BLOOD: The blood of our Lord Jesus has two basic functions. First - To establish a new contract. 1 Corinthians 11:25 In the same manner Jesus also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” We remember the Abrahamic covenant was established by the blood of animals, however God required something very personal from Abraham. Genesis 15: So God said to Abraham, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, down the middle, and placed each piece opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds in two. And it c

Who is Jesus? Part 26 Jesus Teaches about Life

Image
Who is Jesus? Part 26 - Jesus Teaches about Life - From Matthew 7 High up on the mountain was a favorite place for Jesus to use as a place of solitude, but the crowds often followed him.  Then he would find a place to sit where they could hear him teach.   On one occasion they asked Jesus to teach them to pray and he gave them an example:   First - - Address God as your father:  " Our Father which is in heaven"   Next; Tell God you recognize He is Holy:   "Hallowed be your name." Then,  Give God permission for His will to be done on earth:  " Your Kingdom Come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."  Ask God for your daily provision:  " Give us this day our daily bread,"   It is important to Ask for personal forgiveness and help us to forgive others : "and Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us."  Do Ask for assistance to avoid evil and to live right: "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us

It is Best to Do EXACTLY as God Asks

Image
It is Best to Do EXACTLY as God Asks !! When you are in the kitchen cooking something nice, - if you are like me, you often add something to the recipe and change it to fit your liking. Usually it turns out good, but not always. If you are following instructions to put an item together, it is best to go with the plan and not change it just precede as they ask you to do. In the military, when orders are given, you are expected to follow them to the letter. When God gives us His commandments, they are not suggestions, and His words to us are not to be tweaked to fit our whims, impulses, and desires. So often we hear a teaching, and we understand it is in God's word, but we feel shy, or worse yet, we are not willing to step up and follow what is being asked of us. We say to ourselves, Well, we have never done this before, and although God is a God of mercy, we take the liberty to think in our minds, that God will overlook this, if we just go the way we have always worshiped

Bible Foundations: Communion Lesson 22

Image
Bible Foundations: Communion Lesson 22 Part 1    The word “Communion” is translated from the Greek word 'koinonia.” Koinonia has been translated in the word fellowship 12 times in the New Testament and the word communion 6 times in the King James version. The full meaning is; Having in common, partnership, fellowship, to share a common experience, oneness. Therefore when we speak of Communion Service or the Lords Supper, we are participating in the death of the Lord Jesus Christ in all it's fullness. 1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.  1 Corinthians 10:16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? The two outstanding features of the Communion Service are the Blood and the Body of the Lord Jesus. We are to become partakers of the bread and the fruit of the vine

Who is Jesus? Part 25 Healing on the Sabbath Day

Take up Your Bed and Walk Who is Jesus? Chapter 25 The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in  Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed porches. In these lay a great many invalids; blind, lame, and paralyzed.  One man was there who had been an invalid for 38 years.  When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, Jesus asked him,  “Do you want to be healed?”   The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another person steps down before me.”  Jesus said to him,  “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.”   And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now the day was the Sabbath; so, the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is against the law for you to take up your bed today.”  But he answ

Why did Jesus Come to Earth?

Image
Why did Jesus Come to Earth?  The most well know scripture in the Bible is John 3:16. Regardless of your religious background, there aren't too many people that can't quote at least a portion of it.  For most, if there was a scripture that was considered the backbone of Christianity, this would be it. For God so loved the world; He gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Why did God give Jesus to the world? Most consider the thought that God sent Jesus so we would not perish in hell and  be able to go to heaven. The primary purpose Jesus came was not to keep you out of Hell; but it was to get God's Life back in you. Now heaven is a tremendous benefit of you receiving His eternal life, but heaven was not the purpose of Jesus coming to earth. There is certainly a Hell to shun and a heaven to gain, but it wasn't the driving force of Jesus's ministry. Jesus did NOT say, everyone who b
