SUBJECT: The Bible – The Word of God Lesson 1   Part 1 Smith Wigglesworth said: “Never say this book contains the Word of God, but say;  - - -        - - -  “THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD.” The Bible is God's written expression of His will to man. When we consider that it is God speaking to man, it should never be considered as just instruction in a general sense, but God's instruction to me as a person . In other words, each of us should read the Bible with the thought in mind that; “ God is speaking to me. ” James 1:21-22 declares; Receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. Where did our Bible come from?    God is the source 1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we continually thank God because, when you received the word of God that yo

Bible Foundations – Introduction Continued  "The Bible is God's Word" Let the Word of God have “RIGHT OF WAY” in your life. This is allowing Christ Jesus the right-of-way. The Word dominating you is the Lordship of Christ IN you. We are BUILT UP with the Word; Acts 20:32 And now I commit you to God   and to the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified. “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.   Jesus is the Lamb of God God lives in eternity, so with God there is no "time" as we know it. Time on earth began when God created the earth with the Sun for the Day and the Moon for the night. But God lives outside of “time” as we know it. The Bible says in   2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” From the moment Adam and Eve sinned, God was not in a hurry to put His plan of redemption in place. There was much to do first. God slew an innocent lamb to clothe Adam and Eve and He promised that one day, He would   send a mighty Deliverer and Redeemer.   (Genesis. 3:15). Many of the things God caused to happen as recorded in the Bible, were for examples and pictures of a Savior who would become the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. The prophets often spoke of a Messiah who would be born in Bethlehem, of a young virgin, and would be anointed to heal th

BIBLE FOUNDATIONS -  A study Course THE WORD OF GOD - - Introduction May I suggest that you have a pen and paper handy to take down the scripture references.   It is good to read the scriptures for yourself. If your “real” bible is handy and you are quick, you may turn and read the scripture.  If you can print this out, it would be good to keep. The Bible is the Word of God speaking to you. “Thus saith the Lord” is repeated over two thousand times from Exodus to Deuteronomy. God and His Word are one. The Word is always now. 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him  are   Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Jesus is the Word, and He is the Living Word. Jesus is called the Logos. Jesus is the Logos, and the Logos is a living thing - - not only in the book, not only on the written page, - - but also on the lips of the believer. Hebrews 4:12 (Moffat Translation) “The Logos of God is a living thing, active and more cutting than any sword
