God has No Grandchildren

And Having Done All - then Stand

God has No Grandchildren only Children.

Jesus had instructed about 400 believers to go to Jerusalem and wait to be Baptized with the Holy Spirit. He promised that after the Holy Ghost is come upon you, - that you will have power to be witnesses and to minister.

We see throughout the book of Acts that miracles began to happen soon after Acts 2:4 When tongues of fire fell on about 120 in the upper room.

Acts 19 tells us how God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

As we examine this happening, we can see that these seven sons were “Preacher's Kids,” and were familiar with the power of God. The problem was they were carnal believers and were expecting to be able to move in the Holy Spirit just because of their birth or from the aura of being around others who were moving powerfully.

I can remember David Du Plessis (Mr. Pentecost) speaking at our church in Oakland, CA when I was a young woman. He said, “God has no Grandchildren,” meaning that each person who sets out to minister, to preach and teach, to pray and expect answers, to do exploits including miracles and casting out spirits; cannot inherit Jesus and cannot inherit the Holy Spirit, but must secure their personal relationship and personal baptism of fire and power with God.

For this very reason, some of the hard messages of late have been to encourage each person to purge out all the weights and attitudes that are preventing you and me from experiencing a cloud burst of Holy Ghost Rain. This is the Latter Rain, or the river that we receive in our spirits that flows out from us to refresh, renew and restore others.

We must not presume that simply because we have invited Jesus into our hearts, that we are able to cast out evil spirits. Anything that God is revealing to you and to me that is a hindrance, we are responsible to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit and bind what ever it is, and lose and opposite and positive spirit to replace it.

We dare not take God for granted and expect the Holy Spirit to work through us if we are not fully prepared, and fully equipped and clothed.

Ephesians chapter 6 urges us to; Put on the whole armor of God because our battle in not with flesh and blood but against rulers, against principalities, authorities, powers of darkness and against the spiritual forces of evil and wickedness in high places.

We come today equipped with the Word of God in our hands and in our mouth, Salvation as a helmet is protecting our thoughts and emotions, We are to be fully clothed with the breastplate of God's Righteousness, (not our own righteousness, but that of Jesus). To have in our hand and in our mouth the Word of God, and around our waist only TRUTH and not error. Our head is covered with the Helmet of Salvation to protect our Mind, our Thoughts and our Emotions. In our other hand we carry the Shield of FAITH, because we are faithful and are trustworthy to extinguish all those fiery darts directed at our mind and thoughts to cause us to doubt and to be afraid. Our feet are equipped with shoes of readiness bringing peace including peace-of-mind to others who are fearful and depressed.

Having done all, we are then to stand firm in our declarations and go forward in the name of Jesus.

Finally and this is so important, as we are equipped and ready to pray – Paul urges us to; Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

It is so very important to use your prayer language when you pray. This might include other tongues while speaking, singing, moaning, intercession, and also words in your own language when you are under the unction of the Holy Spirit. Often you will know the general prayer, but not the specifics as you pray in the Spirit. You may be praying for a request someone has given you, but according to the Bible, you will be praying the “Will of God.” Praying in other tongues, you will always be praying what is; “The Will of the Father.”

Ephesians 6: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. “Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” - - and for those who are destined to become the Lord's people. - - -
