Part 31 "Jesus Heals a Centurion's Servant and Raises a Widow's Son" Today's happenings about Jesus are taken from the Gospel of Luke chapter 7 After Jesus had finished a long session of teaching the people, he departed and entered the city of Capernaum.    Now a High ranking Centurion had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, and the servant was highly thought of and was like one of the family. When the noble Centurion heard about Jesus, he sent a message to Jesus by way of the elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant.    And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, "This man is worthy to have you do this for him, because he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue."    So Jesus turned to go with them to the man's home.   What Does it Mean to be Faithful? Are you Faithful ?? The world's most famous geyser, Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park, currently erupts around twenty times each day, shooting gallons of hot misty water often as high as 90 to 120 feet. The times vary, but those on staff predict the next eruption by using stop watches and notes. Old Faithful has been faithful for many years and it seems it is not ready to stop being faithful at any time soon. What is faithfulness? Animals can be extremely faithful to their human masters. A faithful dog will stay with their master and not want to leave them. A dog is loyal and in many cases has saved the life of their master. A service dog is a loyal and faithful companion for the blind, and critically ill owners. A faithful dog will never forget you and will desire to protect and comfort you.   Jesus will Enable a Person to be Made New and Holy before Him Enable Restoration - or Enable Addiction - Jesus has the Solution The word Enable can mean a variety of things. . . . first it means to give support, to strengthen, provide sustenance and supply provision so that the person can accomplish what they desire to do - their free will. Al-Non is a group that meet because they have been enabling the alcoholic to remain in their addiction. Codependents feel guilty not helping someone, even when the person caused the situation and is capable of finding a solution. It’s even harder for codependents because they want to show LOVE and find it difficult to say no to requests for money, lodging and food. Our welfare system is enabling addiction for many by supplying housing, utilities, money, food stamps, and food - - easing their budget to enable them to purchase more drugs, alcohol, and smokes while their children go hungry.   Who is Jesus? Chapter 30 Jesus and the Woman Caught in Adultery As he often did Jesus went to the Mount of Olives to pray, and about dawn he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down to teach them.   Soon the Religious leaders and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and had her stand before them. They said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such a women. So what do you say?”  This they said to test him, so they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.   Honest to God !! Often we think, no one knows the secret things I think or do, but let us be honest to God and confess to Him exactly what is causing him pain because it is hurting us terribly. Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and He already knows what are the facts, but he is desirous for us to admit to him the truth. Let's be Honest: Hebrews chapter 4 verse 5 reminds us to - - Understand that Nothing is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Usually it is the little weights that and holding us back. Things that we don't want to release or let go of. Things we actually get enjoyment out of, and we would prefer that God just not bother us with these little things.
