Why did Jesus Come to Earth?

Why did Jesus Come to Earth?

The most well know scripture in the Bible is John 3:16. Regardless of your religious background, there aren't too many people that can't quote at least a portion of it.  For most, if there was a scripture that was considered the backbone of Christianity, this would be it.

For God so loved the world; He gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Why did God give Jesus to the world? Most consider the thought that God sent Jesus so we would not perish in hell and be able to go to heaven. The primary purpose Jesus came was not to keep you out of Hell; but it was to get God's Life back in you.

Now heaven is a tremendous benefit of you receiving His eternal life, but heaven was not the purpose of Jesus coming to earth. There is certainly a Hell to shun and a heaven to gain, but it wasn't the driving force of Jesus's ministry.

Jesus did NOT say, everyone who believes in me will go to heaven, but He said, everyone who believes in me shall have eternal life.  Jesus did not come to change your destination but He came to change your position so He could give you a possession of eternal life. Thank God that heaven is an automatic byproduct of salvation, but heaven was not the primary focus of Jesus and His ministry to men.  His focus was to give us Eternal Life.

Jesus emphasized that believing in Him and receiving Salvation is not about you going somewhere, but it is about you possessing something.  Something so strong, so beneficial, so powerful that you and Jesus can do exploits as you team together. It is the very life of God in YOU. It is God's life - - His Eternal life.

John 10:10 Jesus said, I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

John 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

1 John 4:9 NLT God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life,

In John 1:4 we are told that Jesus was a possessor of the life of God'; within His spirit was the same life that God possessed. “In Him was life and the life was the light of the world.”

Jesus was a carrier of God's life, and He came to be a distributor of everlasting life. God put this life in Jesus, and Jesus knew He was a possessor of God's life. Jesus also knew He could give this gift of eternal life away to all who would believe on him. Jesus knew He would get the same results as His Father God.

Religion would tell us, being like Jesus, was only in Bible days, and this is now.  Religion will tell us that we should just receive Jesus and trust heaven will be your home, and now just relax and enjoy life. This makes the devil happy when we accept opinion because Satan does not want you to realize you have the very life of God in you, with all God's attributes, and ability inside you to use as you go about your daily life.

Jesus prayed in the Garden, that he thanked God that He and His Father are one. The very desire of Jesus was that we also be one with Him and Father God and go forth in His name with the Spirit of eternal life glowing and flowing out from us.

We have the same measure of the Holy Spirit in us as did Jesus. If you have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, then the special gifts reside in each of us, and we are able to use them as they are needed.

Can you sing with me?

I’ve got The Life of God In Me,
I’ve got The Life of God In Me.
I’ve got His Life, His Nature and His Ability,
I’ve got The Life of God In Me.

Wake up in the morning singing this chorus and then ask Jesus, what shall we do today Lord?

Then with the life of God IN YOU, go forth and do what ever The Holy Spirit of Christ tells you to do.

As we pray over our city, may we make declarations over our citizens, that they will realize they need to be translated out from the darkness and the spirit of death, and placed into God's marvelous light and His eternal life.
