Behold your King

Behold Your King

The children of Israel went to the prophet Samuel and told him, “We want to be like everyone else, we want to be like the world and other nations, and so we desire a king. God was not pleased, but he told Samuel I will give them a king. Now Saul was a good looking man, very tall, muscular, humble and shy, and he was to chosen by God to be the King. Now it was time for the coronation but Saul could not be found. Therefore they inquired of the Lord where he might be. And the Lord answered, Behold, he has hid himself in the hay stacks. And they ran and fetched him; and Samuel said to all the people, “Behold Your King.” And all the people shouted, and said, “God save the king.”

One dark night long ago in all the hustle and bustle of people coming to pay their taxes, all the hotels were full and Joseph and Mary his young bride to be could find no shelter but were told they could stay in the stable with the animals. Now Mary was heavy with child because this was a miraculous conception as was foretold by the prophets, behold a virgin shall bring forth a savior of the world. Mary was also told by the angels that this child was destined to become a king. “Behold Your King.”

Time passed, and the child Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and even at age twelve he amazed the religious leaders with his wise questions and his knowledge of the scriptures.

Again time passed and Jesus began his earthly ministry, teaching, preaching, healing the sick, casting out devils and raising the dead, but the religious leaders were jealous and desired to do away with him.

On one occasion Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey as the people shouted, Hosanna and glory to God, “Behold your King.”

Now there was in his group of twelve disciples - a traitor who was a thief and loved money and decided to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. So he plotted and led soldiers to the garden where he knew Jesus would be. An illegal trial at night with false witnesses saying untruths created a hideous outcome as they mocked Jesus and beat his face to a pulp and then tore his back with lashes so that by His stripes you might be healed. Finally they laughed as they put a purple robe on Jesus and crushed his head with a crown of Thorns. They mocked and laughed as they spit on Him as they sneered “Behold Your King.”

Sad as it was, this was all God's plan, because it was necessary for an innocent lamb to be slain for the sins of the world. The blood of the sacrifice had to be holy and sinless in order to accomplish this. You must understand that Jesus did not have the blood of Adam, because the babies blood comes from their father, and Joseph was NOT the father of Jesus - - God was the father of Jesus, because the seed in Mary was placed there by God himself while she was still a virgin. The very blood of Jesus was able to become the powerful flow to wash away our sins as his blood was shed as the ultimate sacrifice. Every drop of blood was drained from his body as the Centurion soldier pierced his side and blood and water flowed just before Jesus died physically.

They laid Him in a tomb but on the third day He rose victorious from the dead and He is alive for ever more.

We see Jesus in the book of Revelation: “Behold your King”  Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over all the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Behold YOUR KING !!

The question today is this: Is Jesus Your King? If he is not your Lord and King, today is a good day to make a decision to invite Jesus to be King of Your life.

Just say with your mouth, "I believe you are the Son of God, I believe you died on the cross for my sins, I believe you rose from the dead, and I invite you into my life and Make you MY King."  Now follow Jesus all the days of your life.
