Stay in the House and be Safe

Stay in the House and be Safe

Stay home, and be Safe.   Don't be around others, if you do go out, keep your distance from people. Wear a mask and be Safe. These instructions have put a fear in the hearts of our citizens, and many are trying to abide by these rules, but find it not only difficult but mind altering.

If we would allow our thoughts to wander, there are many things that we could be fearful of. We should not fear death itself, but we do fear a long and lingering painful death. We may be fearful that the food supply will dwindle and we will starve and die. The enemy would like to plague you with doubts and visions of what might be.

Proverbs 26:13 speaks about the lazy person, who says, they have decided not to work, but to stay home and be safe, because there is a lion in the streets. Our imagination will project all kinds of reasons why we need to stay home to be safe.

What does God say about all this protection that we think will keep us safe He knows the beginning from the end, and He has already told us not to worry, not to be anxious, not to project disaster when He promises to take care of us.

We could get real morbid about now and suggest a lot of terrible things, but listen well - -

This is important: “Stay in the House and Be Safe - - - Stay in the House of the Lord that is.

The House of the Lord is the safest place on this earth to keep your sanity, your well being, your livelihood, and your place of miracles and God's blessing.

Although many have said, “Be the church” meaning the church is not important, because you can be the substitute for church. This becomes an excuse for many who are in rebellion because a Pastor or Leader was supposedly mean to someone. May I ask, who was the individual who gave you this report of a mean incident. Who are you listening to anyway?

You have not actually been able to hear the whole story because in leadership there are things that are simply not revealed to the members. This becomes a matter of trust and often not understanding the reasons and the big WHY question, but being careful not to harbor a spirit of rebellion or being double minded and thus becoming unstable. James 1:8

Joshua sent spies to search out Jericho, and they stayed at the home of Rahab the harlot. Her home also served as a hotel for visitors. She requested safety for her family as she hid the spies on her roof because the authorities were at her door. The spies gave her assurance of safety and to place the red rope in her window as a sign of protection, and if all of her family would stay in the house, they would be kept safe.

It is interesting to read the final warning in Joshua 2: 18-20  Behold, when we come into the land, you shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you let us down by: and you shalt bring your father, and your mother, and your brethren, and all your father's household, into your home.

And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him. And if you utter this our business, then we will be quit of your oath which you have made us to swear.

She was instructed to place the red cord in the window, then to trust their word, and to not share the information with anyone else outside of her family.

The children of Israel were also given instructions as they prepared to leave Egypt and travel to the land of promise. Place the blood on the door posts and over the door, and stay in the house and be safe. The warning was simple; stay in the house and live and if you go outside, you are in danger even of death.

Jesus often said: He that has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says.

I will close and reaffirm that we should “Stay in the House and Be Safe - - - Stay in the house of the Lord that is.

Psalms 27:4-6 One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble, He will hide me in His shelter; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be held high above my enemies around me. At His tabernacle, I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord . . .

Yes, stay in the house and be safe !! The house of the Lord that is - - -
