Lord Heal our Land
Lord
Heal our Land
Today
as we go to prayer over our cities, our nations and our world, we
will be referring to the word “LAND.” It is necessary to first
lay a foundation for today's message: In Genesis 2:7 “And
the LORD God formed man of the
dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living soul.”
Let us examine this
scripture and notice that man was formed from dust and to dust he
shall return, as is often sited at a funeral service. So we
understand that Adam was formed from a mud pie into the shape of a
likeness of God and that mud is dust mixed with water, and mud can
also be called dirt and dirt is often called land. Land is often
bare, but it can have crops planted and growing on it, fruit and
grain and sustenance. Land can also be our body as we are dust –
dirt and mud.
If God is going to heal our “LAND” may it also
include our body, our property, our place where we live, our nation
and our world. Land is a home place a topographical point where we
abide. Our body is a temporary home in which dwells our spirit man,
waiting for a new body one of these days.
We sing about
America the Beautiful, “Land that we love, guide us and abide with
us.” Land is often referred to as Home Land, our place where we
live and that can be both physical and material.
Today we are in need
of our land being healed – and I am including our bodies as well as
our living spaces, and our homeland plus our world. Let us take it
all in. This is what we will continue to consider and take apart
line upon line: Bare with me we are wading in deep water but it is
soothing and cleansing.
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their
land.”
This short verse
says a lot. If you have received Jesus as your savior, you are one
of God's people. Humble yourself means to realize you can't do a
thing, you must submit to God's will. Pray, that is what we are
about to do, seek God's face, that is a certainty; turn from our
wicked way. - - - here we find some argument. If we say we have not
sinned, then we lie and liars are sinners. Then we might say; we are
not wicked. So the word wicked may not apply to you, but if it does,
repent immediately.
Now may we examine closely, “who is wicked?”
Look around and we don't need to go far. There is much evil in
government, politics, segments, groups, legal and not so legal and
far reaching, so what shall we do to repent from the wickedness of
others? It is simple; so listen closely:
Jesus was teaching
his disciples that they had the right and authority to forgive sins
for someone else even if they were not repentant, and were
rebellious, evil and wicked in their ways. Jesus said in John
20:23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose
sins you shall retain, they are retained.
Stay with me here;
I am asking a hard thing. Are you willing to be a go between for
those who are wicked in their ways? Will you be a co- signer for the
wickedness of others? Are you prepared to stand in the gap, to take on the legal Power of
Attorney which is binding?
We are ready to
stand in their place and ask God to forgive them and purge our “LAND”
to - - Heal our “LAND?”
I will be the voice today, but please
join in and repeat and mumble along with me with your voice, or say amen as I ask forgiveness so that our “Land” will be healed. We
must be in agreement to make this a powerful declaration: I shall go
slow, so stay with me here and be a participator in what is happening
in the next few minutes:
Father God, we
humbly bow ourselves before your mighty face as we seek forgiveness
for those who have turned from serving you and have instead worshiped
other gods including idols, statues and likeness's of every kind.
Forgive those who
have taken your Name in vain, on the media, in the movies, the music,
and forgive the filthy language pouring from their lips.
Forgive those in
both high and lowly government places who are not leaning on the true
God to be a leader of worth.
Forgive those who
have shed innocent blood by abortion, assisted death, murder in all
its forms and have encouraged suicide by song and music.
Forgive
those who have maliciously killed Christians thinking they were doing
God a service.
Forgive those who
have prostituted themselves personally, or otherwise in sex
trafficking, and perversion.
Forgive those who propagate and
participate in pornography. Forgive those who fornicate and have sex
outside of marriage.
Forgive those who
have turned the natural use of the man and the women to initiate
unrighteousness in God's sight.
Forgive those who
have molested children, and those who seek to destroy our youth.
Forgive those who
rape others and those who abuse women; grant them a new mindset.
Forgive those who
have knowingly assisted others and themselves in addictions of every
kind and forgive those who purposefully encourage the drug trade.
Forgive those who
lie and manipulate the truth and deceive many with their fabricated
stories.
Forgive those who
steal outright, and forgive those who steal using legal means to take
from others.
Forgive the trouble
makers who find nothing better to do than form groups to hate others.
Forgive those who
harbor unforgiveness in their hearts and cleanse them from self guilt
and condemnation.
Lord God I ask
forgiveness for those whose hands are quick to shed innocent blood
and those who make plans to carry out evil with riots, protests and
terror.
Lord I ask
forgiveness for anyone who purposefully or innocently released this
virus and other plagues upon our world.
I humbly ask
forgiveness for our personal thoughts of judgment and harboring ill
will towards others who you love.
With a contrite heart I ask
forgiveness for all these sins including mine, and humbly request
that you will heal our “Land.”
I ask this in the precious Name
of Jesus, and I ask that this be done and put into effect now. Thank you
Father for your faithfulness and for honoring our request. Amen.
