Eternal Life – The God Kind of Life

Eternal Life – The God Kind of Life -

When God Created the heavens and the earth, he moved everything into place with His Words. And God saw that it was good.

On day six, God said, “Let us make man after our own image.” Man would be in the likeness of God, with all of His attributes including leadership and dominion over the animals and all of creation.

So God formed man from the dust of the earth, carefully and intricately creating every cell, nerve, organ and the workings of the body functions to be perfect, including an awesome immune system to keep man well and healthy, and a mind with the power of choice.

So here we have man, a mud pie, but there was no life in him. And the Bible says, God who is “Everlasting Life,” Himself, breathed on the man, and he became a living soul. The very living breath of God, entered the man at that moment and he received eternal life. God knew it was not good for man to be alone, so he caused him to sleep, and took from his side a rib and created a perfect women to be the man's helper.

Now God planted a beautiful garden for the man and his wife, of herbs, plants and trees for food. They were told they could eat of all the trees except for two trees that were off limits.

They were NOT to eat from the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, nor from the tree of life. God warned them that if they ate of the forbidden tree they would surely die.

Satan in the form of a beautiful serpent came to Eve and suggested if she wanted to be as wise as God, she should eat from the prohibited tree.  Eve took of the fruit and gave some to her husband Adam, and they both ate. Notice that they did not die that very minute, but what happened was they died spiritually and lost eternal life, in their spirit and also in their bodies, and the spirit of death in the physical began to work in their bodies.

When Adam disobeyed God and ate of the forbidden fruit, we also ate of the prohibited fruit. This is because we were IN Adam when he sinned. In his loins were the seeds of everyone who would ever be born on this earth. We were among those seeds in Adam's loins. As a natural man we followed our father Adam in sin because we were IN Adam.

When we come to Jesus, we are translated out of Adam INTO Christ Jesus, and we receive God's eternal life in our entire being. We must learn how to utilize the life that is now in us. We must acknowledge our new Identification and that we are identified with Jesus in everything He did and still does.

The Bible tells us that when we come to Jesus, we receive “Eternal Life” which is the very life of God that Adam lost.

We are also reminded that we are IN Christ, and because we have been translated from Spiritual Darkness into His Marvelous Light and Life, we participate in all that Jesus did and continues to do.

When Jesus Died, our old man died with Him; when Jesus was buried, we were buried with him, when Jesus rose from the dead, we also rose to newness of life to enjoy all that Jesus has provided for us.

Romans 8: 9-11 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.  And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

2 Corinthians 4: 9-11 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

These verses are about Christians ready to die for the Lord if that becomes their lot, but they are also willing to LIVE in the Glory and allow the life of God to be manifested in and through their natural body.

What does all this actually mean to us as believers in Christ?

We have eternal life in our spirit, and that life is available for us to use for our personal health and healing, and for physical healing as we pray over others.

Allow the life within you to flow out wherever you are led by God to utilize the life flow and his gifts that are already within you.

I realize that I have left some of you back there with Adam in the garden, but do review what you have just read and consider it well.

May I encourage you as you pray, to consider how we can claim the life of God over our city, our Nation and the world?

God used words to create the world, and Jesus instructed us to speak declarations of faith over situations that seem impossible. Let us speak LIFE over our families, our loved ones, and our citizens today.  Let us declare that as the Holy Spirit moves upon them, may they reach out and be transformed by God into a new Creature as the Bible says; those who receive Jesus are born-again and are made new in Christ.
